A few befores and afters

Well the sewing is still in progress, but I've finished working on several pieces of furniture and decorative items at our new apartment. I thought I'd share a few befores and afters.

4-drawer chest found at a used furniture sale

after painting
wicker chest found at furniture sale

after painting (needs second coat)

another wicker chest

painted and ready to use

one of a pair of table lamps found at a thrift store

second lamp after painting. I spray-painted with blue,
then sponged on an ivory to add interest

pair of tables my sister found at a yard sale

after painting, used as coffee tables

I forgot to take a before of this 60s sewing machine cabinet,
but the after adds a bright spot of color to the living room

Great finds! Did you spray paint or use brush and rollers?
Love the robin's egg blue chest of drawers!

Brush painted the tables and chest of drawers. I used spray paint for the wicker trunks and the lamps. For the lamps I spray painted first with the blue, then sponged on an ivory to add some interest

There is NOTHING like a coat of paint to freshen things up, and to make things go together and/or coordinate! Looks great. When in doubt, paint anything that is not moving!

Cute! Looks like the apartment is getting decorated quickly. Now, is there a machine in that cabinet? I only see the lamp plugged in. It's ok to have e-machines around ; )

No machine in that one. It's wedged in the corner where I couldn't use it if there was. I have a treadle set up in the guest room and will probably bring a portable e-machine, for decorative stitching, which I can set up on the table.
